The Heart of Water Filters: Spare Parts

We already know that water filters clean the water that comes to our house and make it drinkable. But it should not be forgotten that during this cleaning process, the filters inside the device get dirty and other details also fail over time. In order for our water to be always clean and safe, our water filter device must be constantly maintained, and spare parts that are about to fail must be replaced with new ones.

But what are the spare parts of the water filter and what part does what? How often should we change the filters? What spare parts should I get?

In this article, you will find answers to all your questions.

First, let's take a quick look at what the main spare parts of a water filter are and what they do.

3 anti-filters - Filters that clean large pollutants (sand, mud, dust, etc.), chlorine and chlorine compounds in water. This includes: sediment filter, crushed activated carbon and pressed activated carbon filters.

Membrane - It is the main part that cleans the heavy metals, scum, harmful viruses and bacteria in the water.

The last carbon filter – This filter is to preserve the taste, integrity and freshness of the water. It contains silver ions.

Mineral filter - It is considered a filter additive that stabilizes the mineral content of water. There are varieties with different composition.

Crane - to open and use clean water.

Tank - is for storing purified water.

Hydrophore – used to increase the inlet water pressure as needed.

Adapter - to connect the device to the electrical network.

Low pressure switch – protects the hydrophore by stopping it when the water pressure is low.

High pressure switch – activates the hydrophore when the water in the reserve tank is low.

Shut off valve – when the tank is full, it cuts off the waste water and stops the water purifier.

Flow - regulates waste water going to the sewer.

Come on to changing filters. First of all, it should be noted that the filter change time varies depending on the type of device, the size of the filters, water usage and the level of water pollution in the area.

If we consider that a standard water filter is connected to regular mains water and is used by a family of 4-6 people, the filter change schedule is as follows:

3 anti-filters 6 months
Membrane 24 months
The last carbon filter 12 months
Mineral filter 18 months

Other details do not need to be changed unless they are out of order. (Flow is an exception. It is recommended to change the flow every time the membrane is renewed).

When choosing a spare part, try to get the original parts that come on your water filter. In most cases, the company you buy the device from will provide you with both spare parts and ongoing service.
