The hardness test kit determines the amount of all ions that make water hard. Titration solution, indicator and measuring cup are placed inside the kit. If the color of the solution is blue, it indicates that there is no hardness in the water. If the color is red, every 1 drop of indicator added indicates 1 Fr° (French coefficient) of cod until the color turns blue. The total number of drops determines the hardness of the water.

Water hardness levels are classified as follows.

0-7 soft water

7-15 medium hard water

15-30 hard water

>300 very hard water
